Damon has been dancing his entire life. Starting in the early 80's with
vernacular jazz/blues he went on to Hip-Hop, and eventually studied over a dozen
different dance styles until coming full circle focusing primarily on the
history and styles of swing and blues, in 1995.
He has taught dance extensively on both coasts, and studied the development of
vernacular jazz/blues dance regionally and nationally. He has been interviewed
as a jazz/blues dance historian in documentary and for radio.
He is a member of the California Historical Jazz Dance Foundation, and Director
of Community Outreach for the Northern California Lindy Society.
Damon's teaching style is clear and concise, and is able to demonstrate and breakdown difficult and abstract concepts so they are easy to understand and incorporate. Challenging and fun-filled, his classes will teach the roots of Blues dancing, as well as help you shape where it will go tomorrow.

Heather is the best kept secret in the Swing and Blues
dance scene. Leave it to Sara and Tom to spill the beans. Not only are we
letting the secret out, we are going to parade that secret around like she was
some dirt on a politician. Heather began listening to blues music in the womb,
thanks to a mother with excellent taste. Unfortunately for her mother, that's
also when she began dancing to it. She is an unpublicized member of the Justice
League of America who honed her craft in a Tibetan monastery before joining the
[Censored by the U.N. Security Councel

by the U.N. Security Councel Ref:105467831]. When she's not
studying, she knits. While listening to music, of course.
You may have seen her spin at the inaugural Austin Blues
Party, Enter the Blues, MezzJelly Blues Weekend, Buenos Aires Blues, or at other
events throughout the Southeast. She's also playing at the upcoming Blues
Collective workshop in NYC. If you're lucky, you can catch one of her sets on
www.bigblueswing.com. And she definitely wants to dance with you--you especially
and also you, the guy with the funny shirt--so just ask.
